Research · For Sales, Marketing, Founders

Competitive intel analyst

Each month, reads your competitors' monitored pages (pricing, release notes) and logs what changed, finds where they came up in your conversations and notes (active evaluation or a passing mention), and proposes battlecard edits with dated, quoted evidence for you to approve.

What it's for

Battlecards stay current with what competitors change and what buyers say about them.

  • Product marketing
  • Sales enablement
  • Founders

What you get

  • Change-log entries with date, URL and diff
  • Classified mentions (owners of open deals are told)
  • Proposed battlecard edits waiting for approval

When it runs

  • When you run it
  • On the 1st of each month, 07:00

What it uses

  • Public web pages
  • Your Closefinch records

You choose:

  • Competitor (default: all) (optional)
  • Who reviews the edits (a teammate; default: whoever started it) (optional)

Its steps

  1. Refresh
  2. Tell the reviewer

Approvals

Reads public pages on competitors' own domains (robots.txt honoured) and the org's own conversations and notes. Battlecard edits wait for a person; nothing is published or posted to a channel.

Checked before release

The template's eval suite must pass these before a version ships:

  • Logs a page change and proposes a cited battlecard edit

Questions

Which pages does it read?
Only the pages you list on each competitor's own domains, without query strings, through the same reader as research (robots.txt, one request a second).
Does it post to Slack?
No. Deal owners hear about new mentions through their own notification settings; battlecard edits wait in the app.
  • Account research brief

Researches an account on the open web — its own site and recent news — and sends you a brief: what it does, what changed, and why it might need you now.

  • Person research brief

Researches a contact's public work — their company's site and news that names them — and sends you a brief with labelled facts, inferences and unknowns.

  • Account plan keeper

Keeps a living plan for an account — priorities, pain, people, current tools, risks and the next move — rebuilt from its research, signals, conversations, deals and contacts.
