Account research brief
Researches an account on the open web — its own site and recent news — and sends you a brief: what it does, what changed, and why it might need you now. Every fact quotes its source; inferences and unknowns are labelled as such.

What it's for
Know what's true about an account, what's a guess, and what nobody knows yet, before reaching out.
- Account executives preparing outreach
- Founders researching target accounts
What you get
- A research brief on the account: facts with their sources, inferences, unknowns, ranked by fit
- A message to you with its summary
When it runs
- When you run it
- When a strong signal fires on an account
What it uses
- Public web pages
- Your Closefinch records
When you run it yourself, you choose (an event fills these in):
- Account
- What to focus on (optional) (optional)
- Who gets the brief (a teammate; default: whoever started it) (optional)
Its steps
- Research
- Send the brief
Approvals
Reads public web pages and news; writes only the brief inside the platform and a message to you. Nothing is sent outside.
Checked before release
The template's eval suite must pass these before a version ships:
- Labels facts only with quotes found in their sources
- A page can't send the research elsewhere
- Starts from a strong signal through a trigger
Questions
- Where does it look?
- The account's own website (from its domain on the record) and news through GDELT, which is free. With a Serper or Brave key it also searches the wider web.
- Can it make things up?
- A fact must quote its source word for word, and the quote is checked; anything it can't quote is labelled an inference or an unknown.
- What about robots.txt?
- It's honoured, and pages are read at most one a second per site.

Person research brief
Researches a contact's public work — their company's site and news that names them — and sends you a brief with labelled facts, inferences and unknowns.
Account plan keeper
Keeps a living plan for an account — priorities, pain, people, current tools, risks and the next move — rebuilt from its research, signals, conversations, deals and contacts.
Case-study miner
When a deal is won, reads its conversations and notes for results the customer reports — numbers with units, percentages, before and after — and files each as a proof point with the exact quote, who said it, when, and a link to the call.
