# Inbound receptionist

Your phone answered around the clock: after hours, on holidays, and when nobody in the ring group picks up within the seconds you set. The AI says it's an AI and that the call is recorded before anything else, answers from your public knowledge base, takes messages and books meetings. After each call this agent reviews what happened and tells the right person when there's something to do.

## Approvals

Reads the call and messages a teammate inside the platform; nothing is sent outside. On the call itself: the opening always says it's an AI and names your business (you can reword it, not remove it); recording starts after the notice and stops if the caller objects; unidentified callers hear public knowledge-base sections only.

## Checked before release

The template's eval suite must pass these:

- Tells the owner about a message the AI took
- Never quotes a caller who asked not to be recorded

## Questions

**When does the AI answer instead of us?**

You choose per number in Settings → Voice agents → Inbound routing: always, or after hours and on holidays with your ring group first in business hours (the AI takes the call after the seconds you set, or at once when nobody is available).

**Can it book meetings?**

Yes, on your own booking pages' open times, with the invite going to the email the caller gives.
