# Apps, API and MCP

The web app, the Slack app and a mobile Today view, plus a REST API, a hosted MCP server, a CLI and webhooks for building on top.

A note in italics after an item says when it's off by default, or needs your own account with another service. Every area: the [product overview](https://www.closefinch.com/product).

## Apps and developer surfaces

- Web app: a home page with tasks, activity and metrics, plus records, agents, approvals and settings.
- Slack app: alerts to channels and DMs, record link unfurls, two-way agent chat and @-mention Q&A, approval buttons, channel messages that trigger multi-step agent work with live progress lines.
- Email notifications and digests (assignments, mentions, form submissions, daily suggestion list, meeting summaries).
- Mobile Today view with meetings, tasks and approvals, including approving with a tap. *(Push notifications are off for now.)*
- CLI built for agents: OAuth profiles, full CRUD per resource, raw API calls, bulk create, machine-readable `agent-context`, TTY tables vs. piped JSON, TOON output, `--jq`, dry-run and force; coding-agent installer.
- Public REST API with OpenAPI, scoped keys, opaque prefixed IDs, cursor pagination, per-resource JSON Schema endpoints and published rate limits.
- Webhooks (inbound triggers and outbound events) and Zapier/Make/n8n hooks.
- Hosted MCP server with OAuth sign-in (clients can register themselves) or an API key, organization selection, scopes and gated tools.
- MCP as a write and configuration surface (send email, quote from an LLM, push pricing config, replay regression tests).
- MCP client: the agent consumes any remote MCP server or arbitrary API with keys stored as secrets.
- WebMCP, so buyers' own AI assistants can query your site agent. *(WebMCP is a draft standard, in a Chrome origin trial.)*
- Embeddable agents and generated apps (dashboards, work queues, public forms) inside CRM views or internal tools.
- Email-the-agent interface (a forwarding inbox that ingests and acts).
- Sidebar grouped by task: Today, Pipeline, Conversations, Prospect, Close, Agents, Coach (labelled, collapsible, at most two levels; sub-pages become tabs in their section); no page removed, and a test fails if any app route becomes unreachable.
- Modules shown by setup: a module the org hasn't set up (voice, phone menus, payments, packs…) moves under More / Add a capability, one click away and still found by search.
- Pinned and recent pages and records at the top of the sidebar, saved per person.
- Settings as its own area with sections (Personal, Organization, Data, AI and agents, Channels, Phone and voice, Developers, Security) and a settings search.
- Command palette (Cmd/Ctrl+K): jump to any page, find any record across all objects including custom ones, run actions (New deal, Ask…); recent items when empty, shortcuts shown beside commands, aware of the current page, only what the person's scopes allow.
- App-wide keyboard shortcuts: ? help sheet, g-then-letter navigation, c to create, / to search, j/k through lists; the same on Mac and Windows, never fired while typing, and can be turned off.
- On the free plan, every empty page links to the setup that fills it, plan limits say what stops and what still works before you reach them, and a short tour shows what you can do.

## For agents

- Agent-created sandbox org that a person claims.
- An agent can get started alone: a CLI command and an API call create a sandbox and return a working, limited test key, and API and MCP errors name the cause, the fix and a docs link, including where to get a key.

## Getting started

- Guided first run.
