# Plain

Support threads.

Part of [Product, billing and support signals](https://www.closefinch.com/integrations#signals). What customers do in your product, what they pay and what they ask support, on the account's timeline.

## How it connects

- Connected once for the workspace, by an owner.
- Plain sends events to an address Closefinch gives you, checked against the request signing secret you copy from Plain.
- Changes arrive as they happen, and it also checks on a schedule.

## Connect it

1. In Closefinch, open Settings → Integrations and find Plain under its category.
2. Choose Plain and paste its request signing secret.
3. Copy the webhook address Closefinch shows, and add it in Plain's webhook settings.
4. Changes arrive as they happen, and it also checks on a schedule. You can pause it or disconnect at any time.

What the form asks for:

- Request signing secret: Plain → Settings → Webhooks: the workspace's request-signing secret.
- API key (optional, for backfill): Plain → Settings → Machine users → API key with thread:read and customer:read, to import existing threads once.

Nothing an agent sends out through a connection goes without Closefinch's policy checks and, by default, a person's approval. Every integration: [https://www.closefinch.com/integrations](https://www.closefinch.com/integrations).
