# Google (Gmail and Calendar)

Mail and meetings from Gmail and Google Calendar.

Part of [Email and calendar](https://www.closefinch.com/integrations#email-calendar). Each teammate connects their own mailbox. Business email and meetings are filed to the right contacts and accounts; personal and marketing mail is left out.

## How it connects

- Each person connects their own account.
- You sign in to Google (Gmail and Calendar) and approve the permissions it asks for (listed below). We never see your password, and the access it grants is stored encrypted.
- Changes arrive as they happen, and it also checks on a schedule.

## Connect it

1. In Closefinch, open Settings → Integrations and find Google (Gmail and Calendar) under Your accounts.
2. Choose Google (Gmail and Calendar) and sign in to it, then approve the permissions it asks for.
3. Changes arrive as they happen, and it also checks on a schedule. You can pause it or disconnect at any time.

## Permissions it asks for

- `openid`
- `email`
- `https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.readonly`
- `https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.readonly`

Only when sending is allowed (your workspace's outbound is on, or you choose it): `https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.send`, `https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.events`.

Only when an owner turns on drafts and labels in your Gmail: `https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.compose`, `https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.modify`.

Only when an owner turns on Google Postmaster Tools data: `https://www.googleapis.com/auth/postmaster.readonly`.

Nothing an agent sends out through a connection goes without Closefinch's policy checks and, by default, a person's approval. Every integration: [https://www.closefinch.com/integrations](https://www.closefinch.com/integrations).
